Privacy Policy & Terms of Service
At Volume Shader BM Benchmark (available at https://volumeshaderbmbenchmark.github.io/), we respect your fundamental right to privacy. This document outlines our transparent privacy practices, data handling rules, and user terms.
1. Zero Personal Data Harvesting
Our web application is built strictly as a client-side utility. We do not require account registration, logins, credit cards, email addresses, or personal identity disclosures. We do not maintain user profile databases, nor do we sell, rent, or trade user data to third-party data brokers.
2. Client-Side WebGL Hardware Execution
When you interact with the benchmark:
- Local Computation: All fragment shader compilation, procedural noise calculation, raymarching loops, and frame rate counting occur exclusively inside your web browser's temporary execution memory (RAM and VRAM).
- Hardware Information: Unmasked WebGL parameters (such as your GPU vendor and graphics driver model) are queried locally via standard browser APIs solely to display your graphics card string on screen. This information is never transmitted to or logged on remote servers.
- No Frame Capturing: We do not take screenshots or record canvas frame buffers of your rendering sessions.
3. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Volume Shader BM Benchmark does not utilize persistent tracking cookies, fingerprinting scripts, or cross-site behavioral telemetry. We do not use third-party user monitoring trackers. Standard web caching may be employed by your local browser to ensure rapid resource loading.
4. Third-Party Hosting & Content Delivery
Our website is hosted on GitHub Pages (operated by GitHub, Inc. / Microsoft Corporation). While we do not collect personal logs, standard automated server logs (such as IP addresses and user-agent strings) may be processed by the host infrastructure for network reliability, DDoS mitigation, and server integrity in compliance with GitHub’s Global Privacy Statement.
5. Terms of Service & Benchmark Disclaimer
By using this tool, you agree to the following terms:
- As-Is Basis: The Volume Shader BM Benchmark is provided free of charge on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis for diagnostic, educational, and synthetic testing purposes without warranties of any kind.
- Thermal Responsibilities: The benchmark executes heavy mathematical loops that cause graphics processors to draw high wattage and generate heat. While modern GPUs feature built-in thermal safeguards that throttle clocks automatically, users testing thermally constrained, fanless, or heavily overclocked systems do so at their own responsibility.
6. Policy Updates
Any modifications to this privacy policy or terms of service will be posted directly on this page with an updated revision date.
